The Ericsson Cradlepoint R920 is a compact ruggedized LTE networking platform for vehicles and IoT. Part number TAA-MAA5-0920-C7A-NA pairs the North American Cat 7 hardware with five years of NetCloud Mobile Essentials and Advanced plans. It is a TAA-compliant ordering option for the U.S. Federal Government. The hardware ships without an AC power supply or antennas, so installers supply the cabling and antennas for the vehicle or enclosure. The embedded Cat 7 LTE modem supports two 4FF SIMs with SIM-based auto-carrier selection. It uses 2x2 MIMO and carrier aggregation to reach up to 300 Mbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink, and its band support includes B14, B71 and CBRS Band 48. The modem is certified on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. It also carries FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline public safety certifications. Local connectivity comes from dual-concurrent 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6, two GbE ports that switch between LAN and WAN, embedded Bluetooth LE 5.1 and a screw-lock USB 2.0 port. For a second LTE or 5G modem and a serial port, add the RX20 Managed Accessory. The R920 is built for vehicles and other harsh locations. It has an IP64 metal housing and a 9-36 VDC input with ignition sensing. It holds E-Mark, SAE J1455, EN 61373 rail, MIL-STD-810G and Class I Div 2 hazardous-location certifications. Active GNSS tracks GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou and QZSS together, and NetCloud uses it to build vehicle location history and cellular coverage maps. For security and edge computing, the router offers a 940 Mbps stateful firewall with IPS and application-aware services. It supports 20 concurrent VPN tunnels and up to 64 VLANs. A dual-core ARMv8 processor runs Docker containerized applications. NetCloud Manager provides device management and software updates for the full five-year term.
