The Cradlepoint R2155 is built for organizations that need 5G on the outside of a vehicle or enclosure rather than inside it. Examples include mass transit, public safety and distributed IoT. The R2100 platform combines an embedded 5G NR FR1 and LTE Category 20 modem, four internal cellular antennas and the router in one aerodynamic polycarbonate casing. It mounts on a vehicle roof or an IoT cabinet. This SKU is the R2155 configuration without Wi-Fi. It ships with integrated antennas and no AC power supply, and a 4FF SIM is optional but not included. The modem supports 5G standalone and non-standalone operation with peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink. It uses 4x4 MIMO and dual 4FF SIM slots. The modem is certified with AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, and it holds FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications. CBRS Band 48 support covers private cellular networks. Passive GNSS feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems and cellular coverage mapping. Installation needs one cable. You can power the unit from a 9–36 VDC vehicle supply with ignition sensing, or from 802.3at PoE over the same 2.5 GbE link. The R2155 can run as a self-contained router. It can also be paired with supported Cradlepoint controlling routers as a captive modem, which NetCloud Manager treats as an internal modem with no separate licence. The hardware is rated IP67 and IK09, is tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, and holds E-Mark and SAE J1455 vehicle certifications.
