The Ericsson Cradlepoint IBR1700 is a Gigabit-class LTE networking platform built for persistent in-vehicle connectivity. It is aimed at organizations that depend on field forces, public safety fleets and mobile networks. This SKU (MAA1-1700120B-NA) is the North America (U.S. & Canada) configuration. It uses the embedded 1200M-B modem, a Cat 18 LTE Advanced Pro modem with 4x4 MIMO, up to 5-carrier downlink aggregation, dual 2FF SIM slots with SIM-based auto-carrier selection, and CBRS Band 48 support for private cellular networks. It is bundled with a 1-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials package plus the Advanced plan. Inside the vehicle, tri-radio dual-band Wi-Fi runs two 2x2 802.11n radios and one 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 radio concurrently. This lets you dedicate a radio to video offload or separate user groups. Five Gigabit Ethernet ports, each switchable between LAN and WAN, connect cameras, MDTs and other wired equipment. Discrete active GNSS with dead reckoning supports Automatic Vehicle Location systems. The RS-232 serial port supports OBD-II vehicle diagnostics with an accessory cable, and GPIO allows custom integrations. The IBR1700 is built for vehicles. It has an IP64 metal housing and MIL-STD-810G and SAE J1455 shock and vibration ratings, and it operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. It accepts 9-36 VDC input with reverse polarity and transient protection, plus ignition sensing for automatic power-on and time-delayed shutdown. The router is 5G-ready: an MC400 modular modem slot allows a second carrier, and it can act as the controller for a Cradlepoint 5G wideband adapter. The Essentials package includes 24x7 support, NetCloud Manager cloud management, continuous router and modem software updates, and a limited lifetime hardware warranty while an active NetCloud plan is in place.
