The Cradlepoint R2155 is built for mass transit, public safety and IoT teams that need 5G on a vehicle roof or an outdoor cabinet without running coax. The modem, four internal cellular antennas and router sit in a single aerodynamic, polycarbonate housing rated IP67 and IK09, with salt-mist corrosion resistance and MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration testing. It operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. This R2155 configuration has no Wi-Fi radio; the SIM card (4FF) and AC power supply are not included. The embedded modem supports 5G FR1 NSA/SA and LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 with peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up, 4x4 MIMO, dual SIM slots and CBRS Band 48 for private cellular networks. It carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network operator certifications and FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications. Passive GNSS feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems. Installation uses either the 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing or a single 802.3at PoE connection over the 2.5 GbE cable. The R2155 can run as a self-contained router or as a captive 5G modem for supported Cradlepoint controlling routers, where NetCloud Manager treats it as an internal modem with no separate licence. On-board performance includes 900 Mbps stateful firewall, 300 Mbps IPsec VPN, 10 VPN tunnels and Docker container support on a quad-core ARMv8 CPU. The included 1-year Essentials + Advanced plan covers NetCloud Manager device management and software updates, 24x7 support, Enterprise Wireless University access, and a limited lifetime hardware warranty while the subscription is active.
