The Cradlepoint R2155 is built for exterior mounting on vehicle roofs and IoT cabinet enclosures. This configuration is the R2155 without Wi-Fi. It combines an embedded 5G NR FR1 and LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 modem, four internal cellular antennas and the router in one aerodynamic polycarbonate enclosure, so there are no coax runs to install. It is rated IP67, IK09 and MIL-STD-810G for shock and vibration, and operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. That makes it a fit for mass transit, public safety and remote infrastructure. The SKU covers All Regions. The SIM and AC power supply are not included. The modem supports 5G NSA and SA with peak rates of up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink, 4x4 MIMO and dual 4FF SIM slots. It carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications. Public safety network certifications include FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified. CBRS Band 48 support allows private cellular deployments. One 2.5 GbE LAN port connects equipment over an attached flat cable. That link can also power the router through 802.3at PoE, or you can use the 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing. The R2155 can run as a standalone router or as a captive 5G modem for a supported Cradlepoint controlling router, where NetCloud Manager treats it as an internal modem without a separate license. Passive GNSS supports Automatic Vehicle Location integration. A quad-core ARMv8 CPU runs Docker containerized applications at the edge.
