The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2105 is the Wi-Fi 6 model of the R2100 Series 5G ruggedized router, built for mass transit, public safety and other fleet or IoT deployments. It mounts on the roof of a vehicle or on an IoT cabinet enclosure and holds the modem, antennas and router in a single aerodynamic housing. Because there are no coax runs, installation takes one power cable or one PoE connection. This SKU, MB05-2105-5GB-GA, pairs the hardware with a 5-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials plan and is designated for all regions. The embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in NSA and SA modes plus LTE Advanced Pro Category 20. It has 4x4 MIMO, dual 4FF SIM slots, and peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. Band coverage includes n41, n71, n77 and CBRS band 48 for private cellular networks. The manufacturer lists AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network operator certifications, along with FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified. On board, 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 and a single 2.5 GbE LAN port serve connected equipment. Rated performance is 900 Mbps stateful firewall, 300 Mbps IPsec VPN and about 100 typical clients. The R2105 can run as a self-contained router. It can also act as a captive modem for a supported Cradlepoint controlling router, adding 5G while being managed as a single entity in NetCloud Manager. For select controlling routers, it can also serve as an extra Wi-Fi source. Passive GNSS supports Automatic Vehicle Location integration, and a quad-core ARMv8 CPU hosts Docker containerized applications. The Essentials plan covers NetCloud Manager device management and software updates for the full term. It also includes 24x7 support, access to Enterprise Wireless University, and a limited lifetime hardware warranty while the subscription is active. NetCloud Advanced can be added at any time for features such as coverage mapping. A SIM card and an AC power supply are not included.
