The Ericsson Cradlepoint R980 is a ruggedized, secure 5G router for mobile, in-vehicle and IoT deployments. This part number, TAA-MB03-R980-5GD-A, combines the R980 hardware (5G modem, Wi-Fi, two 4FF SIM slots and embedded eSIM) with a 3-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Essentials plan. It is a TAA-compliant ordering option for the U.S. Federal Government. The kit does not include an AC power supply or antennas. The embedded 3GPP Release 16 modem supports 5G NR standalone and non-standalone networks across 600 MHz to 6 GHz, with LTE Advanced Pro Category 19 fallback. It is rated for peak downlink rates up to 3.4 Gbps on NSA. Network slicing supports up to four DNN/PDN instances.
