The Wilson Electronics 311104 NMO Antenna is a permanent-mount outside antenna for vehicles running a cellular signal booster. NMO is the standard for fleet and commercial vehicle antennas: a mount is fixed through the roof, and the antenna screws onto it. The result is a secure, weather-tight installation that stays put at highway speed. The 13.88-inch stainless steel whip is omni-directional and vertically polarized, so it picks up towers in every direction while the vehicle moves. The manufacturer lists gain by band: 2.0 dB at 700-800 MHz, 0 dB at 880-960 MHz, -3.1 dB at 1710-1880 MHz, 5.9 dB at 1850-1990 MHz and 1.3 dB at 2110-2170 MHz. Impedance is 50 Ohm. A metal ground plane is required, and the center of the vehicle roof is the preferred location. The antenna ships without a mount or coax. Pair it with the Wilson 3/4-inch hole NMO mount (901150) or the 3/8-inch hole mount (905814), sold separately; both provide the cable run with an SMA connection to the booster. An installation guide is available, and the manufacturer warrants its antennas for 2 years against defects in workmanship and materials.
