Panorama SAB-324-2 Dual Sharkee Roof Rib Mounting Adaptor Kit for Ford Explorer / Interceptor 2020

The Panorama SAB-324-2 solves a specific installation problem. It lets fleet and public-safety installers put a Dual Sharkee antenna on the ribbed roof of a Ford Explorer / Interceptor 2020. It is designed for the GPSD4, FIND4 and SHK[G]4-6-60[-X] series, which Panorama describes as its MiMo sharkfin antennas. The adaptor places the antenna on the peak of the roof rib instead of forcing it onto an uneven surface. The kit has two parts. The first is a silicone rubber mounting boot, which conforms to the rib and seals the mounting hole when correctly fitted. The second is a set of extended adhesive conductive pads that keep the antenna effectively coupled to the vehicle ground plane. The adaptor measures 255 mm (10.04 in) long, 152 mm (5.98 in) wide and 2.5 mm (0.10 in) high, so it adds almost no height to the installation. The adaptor also works as a planning tool. Before drilling, you can use it to check whether a mounting location is suitable, and as a template to mark the position of the required hole. Panorama recommends installing when the temperature is above 50°F (10°C). For best performance, mount it at least 300 mm (1 ft) away from other conductive objects on the panel.
