The InHand Networks IR624-NRQ3-WLAN-S is the North American 5G version of the IR624 industrial router, configured with Wi-Fi and serial interfaces. It is built for industrial sites, edge deployments and enterprise IoT networks that need high bandwidth and low latency in a compact DIN-rail unit. The NRQ3 module supports 5G NR in SA and NSA modes at up to 3.4 Gbps downlink, with fallback to LTE and WCDMA. InHand lists certification with Verizon (NSA), AT&T, T-Mobile and FirstNet (5G), plus FCC, IC and PTCRB. On the local side, four 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports can be assigned as WAN, LAN or VLAN, each with 1.5 kV isolation. Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac Wave2 MU-MIMO) delivers up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, in AP or Client mode. One RS-232 and one RS-485 port, both with 15 kV ESD protection, handle TCP/UDP transparent DTU transmission and Modbus RTU-to-TCP bridging. Resilience comes from interface backup, dual-SIM failover, heartbeat link detection with auto-redial and an embedded watchdog. Security includes firewall filtering, policy-based routing and 802.1X, with IPsec, L2TP, OpenVPN and WireGuard VPN. Routing supports static routes and BGP, and QoS traffic shaping and link monitoring (delay, jitter, packet loss) are built in. The router runs on an 880 MHz CPU with 256 MB RAM and 128 MB flash, in a 544 g fanless metal housing. It accepts 9–48 V DC and operates from -35 °C to 70 °C, or -40 °C to 75 °C on extended versions.
