The InHand Networks VG710-H is a rugged 5G vehicle gateway for public transport, logistics, emergency fleets and heavy-duty vehicles. The IVG710-NRQ3 corresponds to InHand's VG710-H-NRQ3. This configuration pairs a global multiband 3GPP Release 15 modem, covering 5G NR SA/NSA, LTE-FDD/LTE-TDD, LAA and WCDMA, with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. InHand lists NRQ3 carrier certification with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Rogers, Bell (Canada) and FirstNet (LTE/4G), along with FCC, IC, PTCRB and E-Mark certification. The gateway connects a wide range of vehicle systems. Four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports serve cameras, recorders and onboard computers. Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 works in AP or client mode, and Bluetooth 4.1 reaches nearby sensors. Vehicle interfaces include 2 × CAN bus, J1708 and LIN, with J1939 and OBD support. The unit also offers RS-232, RS-485, digital and analog I/O, 1-WIRE for driver ID or temperature, and audio R/L/Mic lines. The GNSS receiver tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou with 2.5 m CEP accuracy, and the accelerometer and gyroscope keep positioning through tunnels and urban canyons. Dual 2FF SIM slots support carrier redundancy. The IP64 die-cast aluminum housing runs from -30 °C to +70 °C, starts at temperatures as low as -35 °C, and accepts 9–36 V DC with ignition-sense control. An ARM Cortex A7 with 8 GB of eMMC runs Python, C/C++ and Docker applications, including Node-RED. Azure IoT Edge, Python 3 and Docker SDKs are available. Networking features include IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP and GRE VPNs, OSPF and BGP routing, VRRP and an SPI firewall. InHand publishes a datasheet and quick start guide for the gateway.
