The Cradlepoint R2155 is the Ericsson Cradlepoint R2100 Series 5G ruggedized router in its configuration without Wi-Fi. It is designed to mount on a vehicle roof or attach to a cabinet enclosure, integrating the modem, antennas and router into one aerodynamic polycarbonate housing. Installation needs no coax: one 2.5 GbE RJ45 LAN cable carries data, and power comes from a 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing or an 802.3at PoE source. It draws 10 W typical and 11.5 W under heavy load. The embedded modem supports 5G FR1 NSA and SA plus LTE Advanced Pro Category 20, with 4x4 MIMO, dual 4FF SIM slots and peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink. It holds AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network operator certifications, FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications, and supports CBRS Band 48 private cellular networks. Passive GNSS supports Automatic Vehicle Location integration. Without a Wi-Fi radio, the R2155 suits deployments where a separate in-vehicle router or switch handles local access. It can serve as a self-contained router or as a captive 5G modem for supported Cradlepoint controlling routers, where NetCloud Manager treats it as an internal modem with no separate license. The housing is IP67 and IK09 rated, tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration procedures, E-Mark and SAE J1455 certified, and operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. This part number includes 5-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials + Advanced plans: NetCloud Manager, software and firmware updates, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty while subscribed, plus Advanced features such as GNSS-based coverage mapping.
