The Ericsson Cradlepoint S400 is a cloud-managed, semi-ruggedized router and secure appliance built for IoT networks. It suits light industrial equipment, digital signage and kiosks. Part number TBT5-0400-C6-NA-N is the U.S. & Canada configuration. It bundles the S400 hardware with a 5-year NetCloud IoT Essentials plan, an AC power supply and antennas. The embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) reaches peak rates of 300 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up. It uses 2x2 MIMO and two-carrier downlink aggregation, with dual 4FF SIM slots and SIM-based auto-carrier selection. The modem covers North American LTE bands from B71 (600 MHz) to B41 and B48. It is certified on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon and supports private CBRS networks under FCC Part 96. The router also has one Gigabit Ethernet port (LAN/WAN selectable) and a USB 2.0 port. Single-radio, dual-band Wi-Fi 5 supports WPA3. An expansion slot accepts serial, dual Fast Ethernet or GPIO modules, and passive GNSS supports asset tracking. The S400 is built for demanding sites. It operates from -20 °C to 60 °C and runs on 9–33 VDC or 802.3af PoE. It meets MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration methods and is rated for Class I Div 2 hazardous locations. It measures 100 x 105 x 31 mm and weighs 221 g. The Essentials plan runs for the full 5-year term. It includes NetCloud Manager for policies, configuration, troubleshooting and software updates, plus connect-and-go zero trust security. It also provides 24x7 support and a limited lifetime hardware warranty while the subscription is active. A NetCloud IoT Advanced plan can be added at any time.
