The Ericsson Cradlepoint S400 is a compact, semi-ruggedized secure appliance and router built for IoT networks. This North America SKU (U.S. and Canada) includes the S400 hardware with an AC power supply and antennas, plus 5 years of NetCloud IoT Essentials and NetCloud IoT Advanced. It suits teams connecting kiosks, digital signage, light industrial equipment and portable assets over LTE. Connectivity comes from an embedded Cat 6 LTE modem (3GPP Rel. 11) with dual 4FF SIM slots and SIM-based auto-carrier selection. It supports peak LTE rates of 300 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up, 2x2 MIMO, and downlink carrier aggregation. Band coverage includes B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B14, B25, B26, B29, B30, B66 and B71, plus TDD B41 and B48. The modem carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network operator certifications and supports CBRS private cellular networks (FCC Part 96, Band 48). Locally, the S400 provides one LAN/WAN-selectable Gigabit Ethernet port, a USB 2.0 port and 1x1 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5 on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. An expansion module slot accepts a serial DB-9 (RS232), dual Fast Ethernet or GPIO module. The S400 is built for real-world installations. It operates from -20 °C to 60 °C and is tested to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration methods. It holds Class I Div 2 and ATEX Zone 2 hazardous-location certifications. You can power it from 9–33 VDC with reverse-polarity and transient protection, or from 802.3af PoE. The included NetCloud subscription covers the full 5-year term. It provides NetCloud Manager for centralized configuration, group policies, troubleshooting and software updates, along with connect-and-go zero trust security. Support is available 24x7 by web, and Cradlepoint hardware carries a limited lifetime warranty while an active NetCloud plan is in place.
