The Cradlepoint R2155 is an exterior-mounted 5G router for mass transit, public safety, utilities and other vehicle and IoT deployments. This SKU pairs the R2155 hardware with a 3-year Ericsson NetCloud Ruggedized IoT Essentials plan and is designated for all regions. The R2155 has no Wi-Fi radio. It delivers cellular WAN over a 2.5 GbE RJ45 LAN connection on a 380 mm integrated shielded cable. The unit ships without SIM or AC power supply. The embedded modem supports 5G NR FR1 in standalone and non-standalone modes and LTE Advanced Pro Category 20. It adds 4x4 MIMO, up to 7 CA LTE downlink and dual 4FF SIM slots. Peak rates are up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. Band support spans n2/n5/n12/n25/n41/n48/n66/n71/n77 and many more, including CBRS Band 48 for private cellular networks. The modem holds AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications and FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications. Because the antennas are inside the housing, installation needs no coax runs. Power comes over a 9–36 VDC cable with ignition sensing or from a single 802.3at PoE connection. The R2155 can run as a self-contained router. It can also serve as a captive 5G modem for supported Cradlepoint controlling routers, where NetCloud Manager treats it as an internal modem without a separate license. The housing is rated IP67 and IK09 and meets MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration procedures, E-Mark and SAE J1455. It operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. The Essentials plan includes NetCloud Manager cloud management and software updates for the full term. It also provides 24x7 support, access to Enterprise Wireless University, and a limited lifetime warranty while a NetCloud subscription is active. NetCloud Advanced can be added at any time for features such as GNSS-based coverage mapping.
