The Cradlepoint R2105 is the Wi-Fi-equipped model of the Ericsson Cradlepoint R2100 series of 5G ruggedized routers. It puts the modem, antennas and router into a single aerodynamic housing designed to mount on the roof of a vehicle or on an IoT cabinet enclosure. Mass transit, public safety and field organizations get strong cellular reception without running coax cable through the vehicle. This part number, MB03-2105-5GB-GA, includes a 3-year Ericsson NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials Plan. The plan covers NetCloud Manager cloud management and software updates, 24x7 support, access to Enterprise Wireless University and a limited lifetime hardware warranty while the subscription is active. The SKU is listed for All Regions and ships with integrated antennas, without an AC power supply, and with the 4FF SIM not included. The embedded modem supports 5G FR1 in NSA and SA modes with LTE Advanced Pro Category 20. It has dual 4FF SIM slots, 4x4 MIMO through four internal antennas and peak rates of up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. The modem carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon operator certifications and is FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified. It also supports private cellular networks, including CBRS Band 48. Installation uses a single 380 mm shielded 2.5 GbE cable. The router takes power from an 802.3at PoE source or from 9–36 VDC through its fixed DC cable, and ignition sensing handles power-up and shutdown. Deployment options: • Run it as a self-contained router with 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6. • Deploy it as a captive 5G modem for supported Cradlepoint routers, managed in NetCloud Manager as a single entity. Passive GNSS supports Automatic Vehicle Location integration. The housing is rated IP67 and IK09 and resists salt mist corrosion to IEC 60068-2-11. It operates from -30 °C to 70 °C and meets MIL-STD-810G, E-Mark and SAE J1455 Category 2. Security performance is rated at 900 Mbps for the stateful firewall and 300 Mbps for IPsec VPN. A Cradlepoint R2100 datasheet is available.
