The Cradlepoint R2155 is the no-Wi-Fi model of the Ericsson Cradlepoint R2100 5G ruggedized router. It is built to mount on a vehicle roof or an IoT cabinet enclosure. The modem, the four internal cellular antennas and the router share one aerodynamic polycarbonate housing, so there are no coax runs to route or tune. Mass transit, public safety and field operations teams can put 5G performance where the signal is strongest. The unit can run as a self-contained router, or as a captive 5G modem for a supported Cradlepoint controlling router. In captive mode, NetCloud Manager treats the R2155 as an internal modem, so no separate licence is needed. The embedded 5G NR FR1 modem supports both SA and NSA operation and falls back to LTE Advanced Pro Category 20. It uses 4x4 MIMO, carries dual 4FF SIM slots and quotes peak rates of up to 4.14 Gbps down and 660 Mbps up. It holds AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network operator certifications and is FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified. CBRS Band 48 private cellular is supported. Passive GNSS provides location data for Automatic Vehicle Location systems. The housing is rated IP67 and IK09, with salt-mist corrosion resistance. It meets MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration procedures and carries E-Mark and SAE J1455 vehicle certifications. It operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. Power comes from a 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing or from 802.3at PoE over the 2.5 GbE port. The R2155 draws 10 W in typical use. This SKU includes a 3-year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials + Advanced plan, valid in all regions. The plan covers NetCloud Manager, software and firmware updates, 24x7 support and a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. The Advanced tier adds GNSS-based coverage and location mapping. A SIM card and AC power supply are not included.
