The Cradlepoint IBR1700 is Ericsson's Gigabit-class LTE platform for vehicles that carry heavy data loads, such as police cruisers, ambulances, transit buses and utility trucks. This North American SKU (U.S. and Canada) combines the IBR1700 with the embedded 1200M-B modem and a 3-year NetCloud Mobile Essentials + Advanced subscription. The plan includes NetCloud Manager, continuous software updates and support for the full term. Support runs 24-hour on weekdays with weekend emergency response by phone, 24x7 on the web and 24x5 by chat. The hardware carries a limited lifetime warranty while a NetCloud plan is active. The Cat 18 modem uses 4x4 MIMO, 256 QAM and up to 5-carrier downlink aggregation to reach 1.2 Gbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink. It covers bands including B12, B13, B14, B66, B71 and CBRS B48. Dual SIM slots with SIM-based auto-carrier selection, AT&T and Verizon certification, and public safety network certifications support mission-critical fleets. For multi-carrier redundancy, the MC400 modular slot takes a second modem. The router can also control an external Cradlepoint 5G adapter in captive mode, so both units are managed as one. The tri-radio Wi-Fi pairs one 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 radio with two 2x2 radios. This lets you dedicate radios to video offload or separate user groups. Five GbE ports connect cameras, laptops and modems. The RS-232 serial port supports OBD-II diagnostics with an accessory cable. Discrete active GPS with dead reckoning feeds automatic vehicle location systems and NetCloud coverage maps. The IP64 metal enclosure operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. It meets MIL STD 810G, SAE J1455 and e-Mark requirements. Power input is 9–36 VDC with ignition sensing, reverse polarity protection and ISO 7637-2 transient protection. An optional 12 VDC AC adapter is available.
