Create a reliable mounting point for equipment that does not fit standard rack ears. The Vertiv RS800 center-mount shelf is designed for 23 in wide racks, giving you a practical surface for appliances, tools, and support hardware that need to live inside the enclosure without being directly rack-mounted. A center-mounted shelf helps distribute load more evenly than improvised placement, which matters when you are managing dense infrastructure or mixed device types. Its compact 0.9 in depth and 3.9 in height keep the shelf profile tight, helping preserve airflow and access in constrained rack environments. That makes it a strong fit for network closets, telecom cabinets, and edge deployments where every inch of space has a purpose. For teams standardizing rack layouts, a dedicated shelf reduces clutter and improves serviceability. It gives technicians a defined location for equipment that would otherwise sit unsecured, while keeping the installation cleaner and easier to maintain. When the rack needs to support more than just native rack hardware, this shelf adds the structure to do it properly.
