Red Hat RH02069 RHEL Server HPC Compute Node Subscription

Cover Red Hat Enterprise Linux requirements for the compute-node tier of a high-performance computing environment while retaining Satellite in the named subscription configuration. RH02069 addresses the operating-system subscription requirement for nodes assigned to scheduled, parallel, or distributed compute work. It is a software subscription product rather than a physical server, network device, or mounting accessory. Compute nodes commonly require a consistent operating-system platform across the machines assigned to a cluster. This offering is scoped specifically to the HPC compute-node role, making that role explicit when selecting a RHEL Server subscription. Satellite is named with the offering, providing the management-platform element associated with this configuration. The scope centers on machines performing compute work within an HPC environment. Use this subscription where the required platform is Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server for an HPC compute node and Satellite must be included in the named offering. Its distinguishing characteristics are the compute-node-specific RHEL Server scope and the inclusion of Satellite in the product description. This makes it suitable for HPC environments that need an identified subscription configuration for their compute tier without selecting a physical infrastructure product.
