QNAP TR-004U-US 4-Bay 1U Short-Depth Rackmount

Expand local storage without consuming valuable rack depth. The QNAP TR-004U-US is a 1U short-depth rackmount expansion enclosure designed for teams that need straightforward capacity growth in constrained spaces. Its four-bay layout supports 3.5-inch drives in a compact chassis, making it a strong fit for branch offices, edge sites, and small server rooms where every rack unit counts. This model is built for direct-attached expansion, giving infrastructure teams a clean way to add storage to an existing system without introducing a separate storage platform. That matters when the goal is predictable capacity, simpler administration, and a lower operational burden than a full SAN deployment. The short-depth design also makes it easier to place in shallow racks and compact cabinets where standard-depth hardware is not practical. For procurement teams, the value is in the balance: enough bay count to matter, enough physical flexibility to fit constrained environments, and a form factor that supports efficient use of rack space. For administrators, it offers a focused path to storage growth that keeps the deployment model simple and the footprint controlled.
