Route HDMI video while breaking out the embedded audio for downstream analog systems. Monoprice 24278 is built for installations where the display path and the audio path need to be managed separately, such as legacy amplifiers, room mixers, and distributed AV environments. It extracts audio from an HDMI signal and provides analog stereo output, making it easier to integrate modern HDMI sources into systems that still depend on two-channel analog audio. This is the right choice when you need clean signal separation without adding unnecessary conversion layers. Use it to feed a projector or display over HDMI while sending audio to a sound system that does not accept HDMI directly. In conference rooms, training spaces, and small presentation setups, that means fewer compatibility issues and a more controlled signal chain. For integrators, the value is in precision: preserve the video feed, recover the audio, and keep the system architecture simple. Monoprice’s 24278 gives you a focused tool for HDMI audio extraction where reliability and straightforward deployment matter more than feature bloat.
