InHand lists the VG710-H-NRQ5 (5G NR, global, 3GPP Release 16) as certified with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and FirstNet (5G). It also carries FCC, IC, PTCRB, CE, E-Mark, ITxPT and RoHS approvals.
The gateway needs the ignition (IGT) signal to power on. Wire the IGT pin on the 4-pin power connector to the vehicle's ignition-controlled circuit; input voltage is 9–36 V DC. Ignition delay and delayed power-off behavior are set under Administration > System > Basic Setup.
Usually not. Insert the SIM with the unit powered off, then apply ignition. The VG710-H auto-detects the carrier and applies the matching APN in most cases. If the link does not come up, log in at http://192.168.2.1 and go to Network > Cellular > Cellular to set the APN, authentication and dual-SIM options.
The VG710-H uses RJ45 Ethernet and SMA antenna connectors and is designed for commercial fleets and standard in-vehicle deployments. The VG710-M uses M12 X/D-coded Ethernet and FAKRA connectors for vibration-resistant cabling in rail, public transit and heavy-duty vehicles.
Yes. The integrated edge platform supports Python, C/C++ and Docker, including Node-RED and Ubuntu images. InHand provides Python 3, Docker and Azure IoT Edge SDKs, with Visual Studio Code as the supported IDE.
