The InHand Networks VG710 is an industrial-grade 4G vehicle gateway for logistics, transport, heavy equipment and public safety fleets. The IVG710-FS39 is the North America configuration with an LTE Cat 6 modem and 512 MB of DDR3 RAM. InHand's spec sheet lists FCC, IC, PTCRB and E-Mark certification, along with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile certifications for the VG710 family. The die-cast aluminum, IP64-rated housing operates from -30 °C to +70 °C on a 9–36 V DC supply (configurable to 7–36 V DC), with transient protection and ignition-sense power control. In the vehicle, four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports connect cameras, displays and onboard computers. Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 runs in AP or client mode, and Bluetooth 4.1 links nearby sensors. For telematics, the VG710 supports CAN bus, OBD-II and J1939 diagnostics, plus RS-232, RS-485, 1-WIRE for driver ID or temperature, and 6 DI, 4 DO and 6 AI. Dual 2FF SIM slots support carrier redundancy. The GNSS receiver tracks GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou at up to 30 Hz with 2.5 m CEP accuracy. An onboard accelerometer and gyroscope provide dead reckoning in tunnels and urban canyons. The gateway also runs local applications. An ARM Cortex A7 processor, 8 GB of eMMC and microSD support up to 32 GB host Python, C/C++ and Docker workloads, including Node-RED and Ubuntu images. SDKs cover Python 3, Docker and Azure IoT Edge, and the gateway supports MQTT, AMQP, REST and CoAP for cloud integration. Networking features include IPsec, OpenVPN, L2TP and GRE VPNs, OSPF and BGP routing, VRRP and an SPI firewall. InHand SmartFleet adds route planning, tracking and geofencing.
