The 1437S16S is the multi-device size of the 1437SS Series: an extra deep 316 stainless steel enclosure punched for sixteen 30.5mm operators. It is designed to accept standard heavy duty oil tight pushbuttons, switches and pilot lights, so a full operator panel can be built in one enclosure that is protected from dirt, dust, oil and water.

The enclosure is formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and has a natural stainless steel finish with a smooth brushed surface. Captive cover screws fasten into threaded, sealed wells, an oil resistant gasket and adhesive seal the cover, and a bonding stud on the door pairs with a grounding stud on the enclosure. The series notes that larger enclosures provide internally hinged removable covers designed to hold the cover open during wiring.

Nominal size is 11.75 in x 10.75 in x 4.75 in (298 mm x 273 mm x 121 mm). The drawing shows a 12.75 in overall height, an 11.12 in door width, a door opening of 10.25 in by 10.62 in, a 4.91 in overall depth, and Ø1.21 in holes on 2.25 in centres. Welded brackets provide Ø0.25 in mounting holes on 9.88 in x 12.25 in centres. Shipping weight is listed as 3 lbs (1.36 kg).

The series is rated UL 508A Type 4 and 4X and CSA Enclosure 4 and 4X and complies with NEMA Type 4 and 4X and IEC 60529 IP66, with appropriate components required. UL file E65324 and CSA certificate LR21001 apply, and the 1437S16S is REACH and RoHS compliant. The 16-hole size is offered for 30.5mm devices only; its 304 stainless counterpart is 1437SSS.
