Cradlepoint RX20-MC Managed Accessory for R920 Ruggedized Router with Modem Slot, GPIO and Serial (TAA)

The Ericsson Cradlepoint RX20-MC is a compact, ruggedized managed accessory built for the R920 ruggedized router. Part number TAA-MA-RX20-MC is the TAA-compliant version for United States federal government buyers. It expands the R920 with three capabilities: an MC400 modem expansion slot, a DB9 RS-232 serial port and a 6-pin GPIO connector (2x3 Molex Micro-Fit). The modem slot accepts a second LTE or 5G modem, giving the R920 dual-carrier connectivity for vehicles and field sites where one network is not enough. The modem is sold separately. The R920 documentation pairs this accessory with the MC400 5G Modem, TAA-MB-MC400-5GB. The RS-232 port connects serial devices, and the GPIO connector provides general-purpose input/output for integration with vehicle and site equipment. The RX20-MC is built for the same environments as the R920. It is rated IP64 (dust tight and splashing water) and operates from -30 °C to 70 °C. It meets MIL STD 810G and SAE J1455 for shock, vibration and humidity, and carries E-Mark vehicle certification, UL/cUL, CB Scheme, EN 62368-1 and EN 55032/55035. The accessory takes power from the host router. With an MC400-5GB modem installed, the combined R920 and RX20 draw 19.3 W typical and 23 W under heavy load at 12 V. It measures 137 x 116 x 42 mm and weighs 561 g, with a calculated MTBF of 7,814,449 hours. The box includes the RX20 managed accessory, a small accessories kit and a mounting template. Activation and use require an R920 router licensed to an Ericsson NetCloud Service plan.
