Western Digital Darwin HD H.265 HDMI AV-over-IP Transmitter

Carry an HDMI source into an AV-over-IP workflow with H.265 video compression, 1080p60 support and 4:4:4 chroma sampling. The Darwin HD transmitter serves as the source-side endpoint, taking video from an HDMI device and preparing it for transport across an IP network. It suits Full HD distribution tasks where motion handling and color detail matter, including video feeds from presentation systems, media players and production sources. H.265 compression is a defining capability of this transmitter. It reduces the bandwidth required to move video compared with uncompressed transport while retaining the 1080p60 format named for this unit. Support for 4:4:4 chroma sampling preserves full color information rather than reducing chroma detail, which is important when source material includes colored text, computer-generated graphics, user interfaces or detailed presentation content. TAV-DARWINHD-TX is the Darwin HD transmitter ordering code for deployments that require an HDMI-originating endpoint rather than a display-side device. Specify it where the installation begins with an HDMI source and the signal must enter an IP-based distribution path. Its combination of HDMI input, H.265 compression, 1080p at 60 Hz and 4:4:4 video identifies the technical role of this Darwin HD unit within an AV-over-IP system.
