Add backup capacity where uptime matters most. The Vertiv Liebert external battery cabinet is designed to extend runtime for compatible UPS systems without consuming valuable rack space. Its 1U footprint keeps the installation compact, while the rack/tower design gives teams flexibility in mixed infrastructure environments. Lithium-ion battery construction supports a lighter, more space-efficient approach than traditional battery assemblies, which is especially useful in dense edge, branch, and network closets. When a short outage can interrupt transactions, communications, or control systems, extra battery runtime gives operators more time to ride through disturbances or complete an orderly shutdown. This cabinet is a strong fit for teams that need more backup duration without replacing the UPS itself. It is built for straightforward deployment and is well suited to environments where physical space, serviceability, and uptime all carry real cost. For infrastructure buyers comparing battery expansion options, this model offers a compact path to longer protection from a trusted power platform.
