Deliver intelligible voice pickup where clarity matters most. The Shure MX185 combines a subminiature lavalier form factor with a cardioid condenser capsule to keep the focus on the speaker, not the room. That tighter pickup pattern is a practical advantage in conference spaces, lecture halls, and live production environments where ambient noise can compromise speech quality. This model includes a preamp and uses a wired XLR connection, giving integrators a straightforward path into professional audio systems. The 4 ft cable supports clean routing to bodypacks, mixers, and installed infrastructure without excess slack. For teams specifying microphones for recurring use, the MX185 offers the kind of disciplined performance that justifies its place in higher-end AV deployments: compact, reliable, and built for consistent vocal capture. When the application calls for a microphone that disappears visually but remains present sonically, the MX185 is designed to do exactly that. It is a strong fit for presenters, clergy, educators, and production crews who need speech reinforcement without drawing attention to the hardware.
