Seagate 2big Dock 48TB Two-Bay Thunderbolt RAID Array

Store large project libraries locally while adding dock connectivity for a Thunderbolt workstation. Seagate STLG48000400 provides 48 TB through two installed 24 TB SATA III 3.5-inch hard drives and reaches transfer rates up to 550 MB/s when configured in RAID 0. A hardware RAID controller supports RAID 0 for performance, RAID 1 for mirrored storage, and JBOD for independent disks. The array ships configured as RAID 0 and formatted exFAT for use with Windows and macOS systems. Two hot-swappable drive bays support 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA III drives, allowing a failed drive to be replaced without removing the enclosure from service. The installed drives are Seagate IronWolf Pro enterprise-class, 7,200 rpm HDDs. Active cooling uses one internal fan, while a Kensington security slot provides a physical attachment point for the desktop enclosure. Two 40 Gbps Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports connect the array to a host and support daisy chaining of up to five additional Thunderbolt devices. The second Thunderbolt port can supply up to 45 W to a connected device. Front-facing media readers accept SD, SDHC, SDXC, CFast 2.0, and CFexpress cards, while USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 and DisplayPort 1.4 connections add peripheral and display connectivity. This configuration combines high-capacity direct-attached storage with the ports commonly needed at a laptop editing or content-ingest station.
