Confirm that the local equipment accepts an SFP optical transceiver, the link requires 1000BASE-BX10-U signaling, and the installed path is single-mode fiber. The local endpoint must transmit at 1310 nm and receive at 1490 nm, with a compatible opposite-direction optic at the far end.
It supports a 1 Gbps 1000BASE-BX10-U optical Ethernet link rated for 10 km. This BX connection carries transmit and receive traffic over one single-mode fiber strand by assigning a different wavelength to each direction.
A BX10-U connection uses one single-mode fiber strand between endpoints. Unlike conventional duplex optics, it does not require separate strands for transmit and receive traffic. Both endpoints must use complementary transmit and receive wavelength directions for the link to operate.
The 1310 nm transmit and 1490 nm receive wavelengths separate outbound and inbound traffic on the same fiber strand. At the remote endpoint, the wavelength arrangement must be reversed so each transceiver receives the wavelength transmitted by the other endpoint.
