Microsoft Reserved VM Instance Standard_D4s_v5 US East 2

Commit to a year of Standard_D4s_v5 capacity in US East 2 and bring more predictability to Azure infrastructure planning. Reserved VM instances are designed for workloads that run continuously or on a known schedule, where the economics of commitment matter as much as the underlying compute profile. For procurement and platform teams, the advantage is straightforward: you secure capacity in a specific region and align spend with long-lived workloads instead of paying on-demand rates for usage you already know will persist. That makes this reservation a strong fit for production services, internal applications, and baseline infrastructure that should remain available without constant re-purchasing decisions. The Standard_D4s_v5 family is commonly selected for balanced general-purpose workloads, and the reserved model helps make that capacity more cost-efficient over time. In practice, this is less about buying more compute and more about buying certainty — the kind that supports forecasting, chargeback, and disciplined cloud operations. If your environment already depends on Azure in US East 2, this 1-year reservation is a practical way to stabilize spend while keeping the deployment model aligned to enterprise operations.
