The Lantronix E214G001S is a compact, industrial-grade LTE Cat-1 router from the E210 Series, built as the North America Verizon variant. It operates on LTE bands B13 and B14. It targets mission-critical M2M and enterprise IoT applications, including industrial automation, Industry 4.0, smart buildings, smart city systems, transportation, security and sales/payment. The router provides dual SIM, single-standby operation through two mini-SIM trays, with switching based on quality of service or scripted conditions. For wired connections it has one WAN and one LAN 10/100 Ethernet port, and the WAN port can be reconfigured as a second LAN. Wi-Fi 4 connects via an RP-SMA antenna and works as a client or access point. Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi can be set up for failover or load balancing. Field equipment connects through a full RS-232 port on a 9-pin sub-D connector, or through isolated RS-485 using the optional SNAP CAP SC485. Two user-configurable digital I/Os and GPS on a dedicated SMA connector round out the hardware. The Linux-based ePack software suite supports OpenVPN, IPsec (up to 4 channels), WireGuard, L2TP, GRE and PPTP client. It also provides a zone-based firewall, VLAN, DMZ and HTTPS management. Built-in converters handle Modbus RTU/TCP, IEC 60870-5-101/104 and DNP3, and Modbus data can be published to MQTT, Azure, Cumulocity, FTP or HTTP. Fleet operators can manage units through Lantronix Percepxion, TR-069 or SMS/OTA configuration. Developers can build custom packages with the G520 SDK in Python or C/C++, and a microSD slot supports local data logging. The E214G001S runs on 8 to 32 V DC and operates from -20 °C to +70 °C.
