Capture dialogue with more control when the subject is not close to the camera. The MXL FR-300 shotgun microphone is designed for video production, interviews, weddings, and foley work where focused pickup matters and ambient noise needs to stay in the background. Its shotgun form factor helps concentrate on the source in front of the microphone, making it a practical choice for field recording and on-location production. The 10-inch body keeps the mic manageable on camera rigs and boom setups, while the XLR connection fits standard pro audio workflows. With 100 ohm impedance and phantom-powered operation, it is built for integration into serious recording chains rather than casual consumer setups. For teams that need a microphone that can move from interview capture to event coverage to general production audio, the FR-300 offers a straightforward, purpose-built path. It is the kind of tool that earns value by helping crews get usable audio the first time, especially when distance and room noise would otherwise compromise the take.
