Keep large backup sets under control with the HPE Storage LTO-9 Rack Mount Tape Drive 5x LTO-9 configuration. This tape solution is aimed at environments that still value the economics and isolation of removable media, especially when retention policies, ransomware recovery planning, or cold archive storage demand data to stay offline. LTO-9 delivers 18 TB native capacity and up to 45 TB compressed capacity per cartridge, giving infrastructure teams a meaningful jump in density over earlier generations. In a rack-mount deployment, that capacity is easier to align with standardized backup operations and space-conscious data center planning. The 5-cartridge package also helps teams stage media for recurring backup cycles without constant replenishment. For organizations with large data footprints, tape remains a disciplined storage tier: predictable, removable, and cost-effective for data that must be retained but rarely accessed. This HPE offering is a strong fit when you need to preserve backup integrity, reduce dependence on always-on storage, and keep recovery copies physically separated from production systems.
