HES 9400 Surface-Mount Electric Strike

Control access through a rim-exit door opening by electrically releasing the strike instead of relying solely on a mechanical keeper. HES 9400-series electric strikes mount at the frame and receive the latchbolt from compatible rim exit hardware. This arrangement supports controlled entry at doors connected to credential readers, request-to-exit devices, door controllers, and other access-control equipment. The surface-mount 9400 platform is built for rim-exit applications, rather than cylindrical-lock or mortise-lock preparations. Its non-handed strike design helps simplify placement on left- or right-hand openings, while the stainless-steel construction is suited to high-use physical-security doors. The strike accepts a rim latchbolt with up to 3/4 in. throw and provides 1,500 lbf of static holding strength for secured openings. HES 9400-613E identifies a 9400-series electric-strike configuration with 12 or 24 VDC operation and fail-secure behavior. In a fail-secure arrangement, the door remains mechanically secured when power is removed and releases when the strike is energized. Match the strike to the installed rim exit device, door-frame condition, latchbolt throw, controller output, and required egress arrangement before installation.
