The RP1215BFC is a water-tight ABS enclosure from the RP Series With Bottom Flange, built with a clear lid and an integral bottom flange for surface mounting. It suits OEM engineers and integrators housing printed circuit boards or components, and is designed to meet IP65.

The body is light gray ABS plastic with a flame rating of UL94 HB. The gasketed lid uses two-piece "tongue & groove" construction to protect against access of oil, dust and water; the rubber gasket is included and must be field installed. The lid is secured with self-captivating M3.5 stainless steel machine screws (included) threaded into corrosion-resistant bushings, and it has a smooth recessed area (0.40 mm [0.02 in] inlay depth on the drawing) for a membrane, label or silkscreen.

The series ordering table lists its nominal size as 5.71 in (145 mm) x 4.13 in (105 mm) x 2.36 in (60 mm); the part page lists 5.71 in x 4.13 in x 2.56 in (145 mm x 105 mm x 65 mm) and the drawing shows 65.00 mm [2.56 in] overall height. This 145 x 105 mm body is the taller of its footprint, with 59.50 mm of inside height for stacked boards, connectors or small DIN-rail devices. Per the drawing, the inside dimensions are 137.74 mm [5.42 in] long, 97.73 mm [3.85 in] wide and 59.50 mm [2.34 in] high, the overall length across the flange is 174.95 mm [6.89 in], and the flange mounting holes are 5.20 mm [0.20 in] in diameter. Shipping weight is 0.6 lbs (0.27 kg).

Inside, the RP1215BFC has PC board mounting posts that accept M3 self-tapping screws and internal DIN rail mounting tabs. Optional inner panels are available in plastic (STC121) or aluminum (STA121), with replacement gasket 2-pack RP120GASKET and 50-packs of lid screws (SC619-50) and PC board screws (SC622-50). The part is RoHS and REACH compliant. Avoid acetone, thread-locking compounds and cutting fluid, which can damage the plastic.
