The 1591XXEBK is a black multi-purpose enclosure from the 1591XX series, molded from easy-to-machine, flame retardant ABS plastic with a UL94 V-0 flammability rating. It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need a compact housing for a printed circuit board mounted horizontally, with protection against dust and splashing water (designed to meet IP54).
Nominal enclosure size is 7.60 in (193 mm) long, 4.45 in (113 mm) wide and 2.40 in (61 mm) deep; the drawing gives overall dimensions of 193.41 mm [7.61 in] x 113.41 mm [4.47 in] x 61.00 mm [2.40 in], with an inside length of 185.65 mm [7.31 in], inside width of 89.77 mm [3.53 in] and inside height of 57.00 mm [2.24 in] over a 2.00 mm [0.08 in] wall. A PC board up to 185.00 mm x 105.00 mm [7.28 in x 4.13 in] fits in the box or in the lid.
The lid is secured with six M3-0.5 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws (black) threaded into installed brass inserts, a design suited to applications that need repeated assembly and disassembly; recommended torque is 43-50 ozf.in (30-35 cN.m). Replacement screws are sold in packs of 100 as 1591MS100BK (black) or 1591MS100 (nickel plated). Integral PCB standoffs in the box and lid accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, not supplied (packs 1593ATS50 and 1593ATS100).
Internal sides are smooth for easy connector installation. For wall or shelf mounting, accessory ABS mounting flanges are sold separately (1591FEBK black, 1591FEGY grey). The 1591XXEBK is REACH and RoHS compliant, ships shrink wrapped with a shipping weight of 0.47 lbs (0.21 kg), and can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing); STEP and IGES solid models are available.
