The 1590WXX is the shallow version of the 145 x 121 mm watertight diecast footprint, listed at 5.72 x 4.77 x 1.55 in (145 x 121 x 39 mm) with no mounting flanges. It suits designers housing a single large PC board or flat assemblies that need an enclosure designed to meet IP65 without extra height.
The box and lid are die-cast aluminum alloy that is tough yet easy to machine. Lap joint construction at the lid seam guards against dust and splashing water, and a silicone gasket ships loose inside the enclosure for installation on the lid. Low side wall draft angles of 2° or less simplify board mounting. The natural aluminum version is left unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
Outside, the body is 145.20 x 121.20 mm [5.717 x 4.772 in] with an overall height of 39.30 mm [1.547 in]. Inside there is 139.00 x 115.00 mm [5.472 x 4.528 in] of space and 35.05 mm [1.380 in] of height, and the maximum PC board size is listed as 114 mm (length) by 138 mm (width).
Four 6-32 UNC cover screws thread into factory-tapped holes; recommended torque is 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket, 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in] without. The assembly includes box, lid and four screws, is shrink wrapped, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. A flanged-lid version (1590WXXFL) is available, and the optional replacement gasket kit is 1590XGASKET.
