The 1585CLIP is a black steel mounting clip kit used to secure vertical rackmount outlet strips inside enclosures, on relay rack uprights, or on a work bench. Clips of this type are included with all vertical rackmount strips, so 1585CLIP is the part to order when you need extra or replacement mounting clips for a new strip location, a relocated strip, or a repair.

Each spring-steel clip snaps around the extruded aluminum-style case of the outlet strip: the clips are fastened to the mounting surface first, then the strip is pressed into the installed clips. The clip measures 2.00 in (51 mm) high by 1.68 in (43 mm) wide by 0.88 in (22 mm) deep, with a mounting hole 0.76 in (19 mm) high by 0.20 in (5 mm) wide that allows some adjustment during alignment.

The kit ships with three sets of hardware so it can be installed three different ways. For rack cabinet struts, use the 3/8"-16 spring-loaded strut nuts with the 3/8"-16 hex nuts and 3/4" washers: insert the spring nut horizontally into the rail, rotate it 90 degrees, then bolt the clip in place. For a wood work bench or similar surface, drill a 1/8 in pilot hole and secure the clip with the supplied #12 Type AB Robertson (square drive) self-tapping screw and #12 washer.

Contents per kit: two spring-steel clips, three 3/8"-16 spring-loaded nuts, three 3/8"-16 hex nuts, three 3/4" washers, three #12 Type AB screws, three #12 washers, and one assembly hardware kit.
