The 15853H6A1S is a 36-inch vertical surge-protected power strip built for mounting inside racks, cabinets, consoles and workbench frames where equipment needs a single switched, surge-suppressed power feed. It is aimed at IT and AV integrators, electricians, OEM engineers and facilities teams who need a compact vertical strip with integral protection rather than a separate surge module.

Construction uses an anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic end caps, so the body doubles as the structural and grounding element of the assembly. The strip measures 914.40 mm [36.000 in], with an overall assembly length of 926.39 mm [36.472 in] including the end caps, and shipping weight is 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg).

Electrically, 15853H6A1S is rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps and terminates in a 6-foot power cord with a NEMA 5-15P plug. An ON/OFF power switch, a surge indicator light and a resettable circuit breaker are built into the unit, so the strip can be switched and reset locally without pulling the cord. Surge performance is specified at 1080 Joules with 75,000 Amps transient current capability and a 500V Voltage Protection Rating (VPR).
