The 1553DBKBKBAT is the all-black battery version of the large size D 1553 Series handheld enclosure, with a black ABS case and black soft-sided overmold. It combines a uniform black look with an integrated battery compartment for portable, battery-powered electronics.
The battery door and compartment come with 4 battery spring clips for 2x AA batteries and a 9V (PP3) adapter clip. The case is molded from general purpose ABS plastic with a UL94 HB flame rating and a soft plastic overmold, the top cover is recessed for a membrane display or keypad, and the PC board aligns on molded-in bosses.
Overall dimensions are 147 x 89 x 25 mm (5.79 x 3.50 x 0.98 in), nominally 5.8 x 3.5 x 0.98 in. The inner box is 140.24 mm long and 19.50 mm high. With the battery bay in place the maximum PC board is 107 mm x 74 mm (4.21 x 2.91 in) per the ordering table; the drawing shows 106.80 x 73.67 mm.
The 1553DBKBKBAT ships with the top, bottom, front plastic panel, battery door, battery spring clips (4 pcs), 9V adapter (1 pc) and 4 cover screws; the PC board is not supplied. Non-grey 1553 enclosures use black screws. Replacement lid screws are 1593QS100BK, torqued to 2.5 lbf-in (30 cN-m). Spare 9V (BS61) and AA clip (1553HDR-BKIT) kits are listed as accessories.
