The 1427BCGPG48 is the largest PG-thread cordgrip in the nickel plated brass 1427BCG series. It gives a liquid-tight, strain-relieved entry where a cable enters or leaves an enclosure, for installers and OEM engineers dealing with the heaviest cables in the range.
It accepts cable from 37 mm (1.46 in) to 44 mm (1.73 in) in diameter. The large opening and NBR (nitrile rubber) seal accept a wide range of diameters, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring for strain relief without twisting or damaging the cable. The manufacturer recommends the cordgrip with the smallest maximum diameter that will fit.
The 1427BCGPG48 mounts in a 60 mm (2.36 in) hole. Its outer length (L) is 38 mm (1.50 in) and its inner thread length (T) is 10 mm (0.39 in). A locknut and EPDM o-ring are included. PG48 guide torque is 21–24 N-m on the sealing nut and 17–20 N-m on the locknut; actual values can vary depending on the application.
The series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 with protection to IP68 and is UL listed. Working temperature is -40C to +100C, with temporary heat resistance up to 120C. RoHS and REACH compliant; ships in a bag at 0.83 lbs (0.38 kg).
