The 1427BCGPG21 is a PG21-thread liquid-tight cordgrip in nickel plated brass, used where cable enters or leaves an enclosure. It gives panel builders and electrical contractors a sealed, strain-relieved entry for heavier multi-conductor cable.
It fits cable from 13 mm (0.51 in) to 18 mm (0.71 in) in diameter. The large opening and NBR (nitrile rubber) seal accept a wide range of diameters, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring, giving strain relief without twisting or damaging the cable. The manufacturer recommends the cordgrip with the smallest maximum diameter that fits.
The 1427BCGPG21 mounts in a 29 mm (1.14 in) hole. Its outer length (L) is 24 mm (0.94 in) and its inner thread length (T) is 7 mm (0.28 in). A locknut and EPDM o-ring are included. Guide torque for PG21 is 6–8 N-m on the sealing nut and 8–10 N-m on the locknut; actual values can vary depending on the application.
The series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13 with protection to IP68 and is UL listed. Working temperature is -40C to +100C, with temporary heat resistance up to 120C. RoHS and REACH compliant; ships in a bag at 0.14 lbs (0.06 kg).
