The 1427BCGPG16 is a PG16 nickel plated brass cordgrip that forms a liquid-tight, strain-relieved entry where a cable enters or leaves an enclosure. It is intended for installers and OEM engineers routing medium-diameter cable into control and instrument enclosures.
This size covers cable from 10 mm (0.39 in) to 14 mm (0.55 in) in diameter. The large opening and NBR (nitrile rubber) seal accept a wide range of diameters, and the strain relief elements tighten in a circular sequence on the sealing ring to hold the cable securely without twisting or damaging it. Select the cordgrip with the smallest maximum diameter that will fit.
The 1427BCGPG16 installs in a 23 mm (0.91 in) mounting hole with an outer length (L) of 24 mm (0.94 in). The ordering table gives the inner thread length (T) as 7 mm (0.28 in), while the part drawing lists 6.5 mm. The locknut and an EPDM o-ring are included. PG16 guide torque is 5–7 N-m on the sealing nut and 7–9 N-m on the locknut; actual values can vary depending on the application.
The 1427BCG series is designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, provides IP68 protection and is UL listed, with a -40C to +100C working temperature and temporary heat resistance up to 120C. RoHS and REACH compliant; bagged, 0.09 lbs (0.04 kg).
