Cradlepoint R2105 5G Ruggedized Router with Wi-Fi 6 and 5-Year NetCloud Mobile Performance Essentials Plan

The Ericsson Cradlepoint R2105 is the Wi-Fi 6 model of the R2100 5G ruggedized router, built for mass transit, public safety and other vehicle and IoT deployments. It mounts on the outside of a vehicle or IoT cabinet enclosure and integrates the modem, antennas and router in a single aerodynamic, ruggedized casing, so there are no coax cable runs to plan. Power comes from a 9–36 VDC input with ignition sensing or from 802.3at PoE, and a single 2.5 GbE RJ45 LAN port connects it to the vehicle network. The embedded 5G FR1 NSA/SA and LTE Advanced Pro Category 20 modem uses 4x4 MIMO and dual 4FF SIM slots, with peak rates up to 4.14 Gbps downlink and 660 Mbps uplink. It carries AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon network operator certifications, FirstNet Trusted, T-Mobile Connecting Heroes and Verizon Frontline Verified public safety certifications, and supports private cellular networks including CBRS Band 48. Dual-band, concurrent 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6 serves around 100 typical clients, and passive GNSS feeds Automatic Vehicle Location systems. The R2105 can run as a self-contained router or as a captive 5G modem for a supported Cradlepoint controlling router, managed in NetCloud Manager as a single entity without a separate licence. Performance reaches 900 Mbps stateful firewall, 650 Mbps with IPS and application-aware services, and 300 Mbps IPsec VPN across up to 10 tunnels. A quad-core ARMv8 CPU hosts Docker containerized applications at the edge. The enclosure is rated IP67 and IK09, tested to MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration, salt-mist corrosion resistant, and certified for vehicles under E-Mark and SAE J1455 Category 2. The 5-year Essentials plan includes NetCloud Manager device management and software updates, 24x7 support, Enterprise Wireless University access, and a limited lifetime warranty while the subscription is active. NetCloud Advanced can be added at any time.
