Match the existing installation to its 3/4 in recessed format, steel-door application, terminal connection method, and closed-loop circuit configuration. Verify that the door and frame arrangement can accept a recessed contact before replacing an installed unit.
A closed-loop door contact is used in a monitored circuit that remains continuous when the door is in its normal secured position. Opening the door changes the circuit condition, allowing the connected alarm or access-control panel to detect door status.
Terminal connections provide points for attaching field wiring from the alarm circuit. This connection style is suited to hard-wired door monitoring where conductors are routed through the door, frame, or adjacent wall cavity.
Use a recessed steel-door contact at protected commercial or residential door openings where concealed hardware is preferred. The contact mounts within a 3/4 in opening rather than projecting from the door or frame surface.
