GEFEN EXT-DVI-FM500 DVI Fiber Extender

Push DVI video across distances that standard cabling cannot handle. The EXT-DVI-FM500 uses a 100% fiber optic extension path to carry a DVI source up to 5,000 feet, giving integrators a practical way to place displays far from the source while maintaining a clean signal path. Its compact DVI-to-fiber modules are designed to sit neatly behind equipment, which helps preserve rack and room aesthetics in professional installs. The system connects through just two LC fiber optic strands, reducing cable bulk and simplifying the physical run compared with larger copper-based alternatives. On-the-fly EDID programming helps the extender synchronize video resolution to the display without manual configuration, saving time during commissioning and reducing troubleshooting on site. That matters in environments where display behavior must be predictable and installation windows are tight. For control rooms, digital signage, education, and other long-run AV applications, this extender delivers the kind of distance and signal discipline that lower-cost options cannot match. It is built for projects where the display location is fixed, the source is remote, and the installation has to work the first time.
