C2G 60180 HDMI over Cat5 Extender

When a display needs to live beyond the reach of a direct HDMI cable, a Cat-based extender gives you more room to design the system properly. The C2G 60180 HDMI over Cat5 Extender is intended for AV installations that need practical signal extension over structured cabling, making it easier to position equipment in conference rooms, classrooms, and digital signage environments. This approach is especially useful when the source device sits in a rack, credenza, or equipment closet and the display is mounted across the room. By moving the transport to Cat5 infrastructure, you reduce cable visibility and keep the installation easier to manage over time. That matters in environments where uptime, serviceability, and a clean finish all affect the user experience. Compared with low-cost consumer adapters, this type of extender is chosen for a reason: it fits into a planned AV build. It supports a more disciplined layout, helps preserve the integrity of the signal path over longer distances, and gives integrators a cleaner way to deliver HDMI where direct cabling is impractical. For teams standardizing room builds, it is a simple component that earns its place by solving a real installation problem.
