This transceiver operates over single-mode fiber and uses a duplex LC optical interface. FR4 carries the 400 GbE signal by multiplexing four optical wavelengths onto a two-fiber path, rather than requiring the multiple fiber pairs associated with parallel-fiber optics.
The specified maximum optical reach is 2 km over single-mode fiber. Actual deployment suitability also depends on total channel loss, patching, connector condition, and the installed fiber plant. Keep the complete optical path within the applicable link budget.
